Huawei fiber routers provide high-speed internet access via GPON or EPON technology, supporting gigabit Wi-Fi 6 and full-home fiber coverage for both residential and enterprise networks.Overview of Huawei Fiber Solutions

Huawei offers a range of fiber optic access solutions, including Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and Fiber to the Room (FTTR). FTTH delivers fiber directly to residences, enabling ultra-fast broadband for streaming, gaming, and remote work, while FTTR extends fiber to individual rooms, replacing in-house Ethernet cabling and ensuring stable gigabit Wi-Fi coverage throughout the home or office .

Key Huawei FTTR and FTTH Devices
  • OptiXstar HG8141XR-10: Master FTTR unit for homes, using GPON technology to provide gigabit dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and downstream optical ports .
  • OptiXstar K662d: Desktop slave FTTR unit, extending fiber or Ethernet upstream, offering gigabit Wi-Fi 6 and network ports .
  • OptiXstar B866: Enterprise master FTTR unit supporting XG-PON and 10G EPON, with power over fiber (PoF) to supply slave units .
  • OptiXstar B671-1E3W / B675-1E3W: Slave FTTR units for enterprise or campus deployment, providing gigabit Wi-Fi 6 and dual-band network ports .
  • OptiXstar V166a20: GPON main device functioning as a Wi-Fi router with 2.5 Gbit/s and 1 Gbit/s Ethernet, supporting multiple sub-FTTR access points for mesh Wi-Fi coverage .
Features and Benefits
  • High-speed connectivity: Supports gigabit speeds over fiber, with Wi-Fi 6 for low latency and multi-user access .
  • Full-home coverage: FTTR units create a mesh network, ensuring seamless handover between rooms without bandwidth loss .
  • Easy installation: Plug-and-play optical connections with SC/APC connectors, and optional self-adhesive fiber sheathing for neat routing .
  • Enterprise and SME support: Huawei FTTR-SME solutions allow single-fiber deployment for small and medium enterprises, providing stable gigabit Wi-Fi and optical access .
  • Device-cloud synergy: Remote monitoring, one-click diagnosis, and smart O&M improve broadband service quality and reduce downtime .
Setup and Management
  1. Connect the fiber-optic cable from your ISP to the ONT or GPON main device.
  2. Link the Huawei fiber router to the ONT via Ethernet.
  3. Power on the router and wait for LED indicators to stabilize.
  4. Access the router's web interface (commonly at 192.168.18.1 or 192.168.100.1) to configure Wi-Fi SSID, password, and network settings .
  5. Deploy slave FTTR units in other rooms or offices to extend coverage, forming a mesh network with full bandwidth availability .
Practical Applications
  • Residential: High-speed streaming, online gaming, remote work, and smart home integration.
  • Enterprise / SME: Gigabit Wi-Fi coverage in offices, commercial buildings, and campus dormitories, with PoF support for simplified cabling .
  • Large homes: Multiple distribution boxes can be connected to support up to 16 access points, overcoming signal attenuation from walls or floors . Huawei fiber routers and FTTR solutions provide a scalable, high-performance network that combines optical fiber speed with Wi-Fi 6 convenience, suitable for modern homes and small to medium enterprises.
